We spend years and years of studying in school to understand the biology of the human body.

Yet I wonder...Is that all we are? A combination of cells that make up our biology?

Not to downgrade this sophisticated Godly tool, but I am sure there is more to it than what the text books in school taught us.

The body is a book of memories and stories. Scars on our skin remind us of our childhood and scars on our heart feel real whenever we are reminded of an old love story.

The human body can relive an old experience in the same way it did when the experience actually happened. The body holds memories, patterns and as Joe Dispenza says, it can even become the mind in itself.

There is a story of a young lady who did a heart transplant and kept getting intense dreams and sensations that eventually lead her to identifying her donor’s murderer. She was able to remember and relive the experience her donor went through. By holding on to her donor’s heart, she was actually connecting to her whole story.

Each organ in our body, holds a story, a sensation and a memory, so what is our role to support our body?

1. Become aware of how your body is, everyday

Bring awareness into your body. When you wake up in the morning take time to actually notice how your body feels. With the eyes closed, scan the body from head to toe and notice what is happening.

What is the body trying to tell you on this day? What is the body holding on to? What does it need? Take time to listen and be very aware of every sensation. Do not ignore your body’s needs.

The body has a tremendous wisdom within it, we need to trust it more and listen.

2. Find answers to your physical sensations

From awareness, comes connection.

When you become aware of how your body is, you can start creating a deeper connection to it.

Having a conversation with your body and ask it:

What are you really trying to tell me?

What is this sensation in my back? What is this linked to? When did this begin? Was this a result of a strong emotional experience that I ignored?

Do I need to slow down? Or is it time for me to step up for the day?

Find answers to your physical sensations and do not ignore them.

Trust your intuition and allow it to guide you and empower you for the day.

3. Breath is your life force

Use the breath to go deeper within the body.

The breath is an amazing tool that connects you to yourself. Do this with the eyes closed. Allow the breath to travel to any area that needs special support and listening to.

Allow the breath to circulate the organs, muscles and bones of this area. Ask for the breath to release any tension from that area and nurture it with what it needs.

With every exhalation allow yourself to relax more and allow the breath to take with it what doesn’t serve your body.

The breath was given to us as a tool for healing, but first we need to trust in its powers and allow it to consciously travel and perform magic within us.

4. Conscious movement

Movement is one of the most powerful tools we can use to connect to the body. There are many practices that use physical movement as a means for healing.

Practices like Kundlini yoga, Five Rhythms and Osho’s Dynamic Meditations are practices that personally supported my own journey towards physical awareness.

If you ever see an animal after a stressful situation, they would often get up, give their body a good shake and move on with life. I see my cats do that a lot.

Shaking the body is a great way to release stress, anxiety and any unwanted emotions that could be stuck in our body.

Unfortunately we tend to hold on to many emotions, not realizing that this is the root cause for illness. Most illnesses would link back to an emotional trauma that we didn’t deal with.

By taking time to shake off your emotions, you allow your body to process what it’s passing through and release what doesn’t serve it.

Movement meditations also allow you to express yourself creatively and freely without putting boundaries and limitations on how the body should move.

Try this, search for shamanic drumming music, close the eyes and shake the body freely from head to toe for 3 to 5 minutes...what did you release?

5. Healing the past

Whenever I hear that someone is ill, I always wonder what old trauma or unresolved emotions might they be dealing with. Could someone with a broken leg be on the wrong path in life? Could someone with a soar throat be hurting someone with their harsh words? Or worse...not speaking their truth?

There is always a connection between our physical state and the energy we hold on to.

Our role is to become aware, ask the right questions and seek the healing we need to grow.

When we heal our past traumas, we heal our physical state and give space for our body to be healthy and strong. You can eat all the good food you want, but as long as you have unresolved issues, stuck in the lack of forgiveness, fears, anger and other unresolved feelings, you will not be able to tap into your true expanded potential.

So as a conclusion, our body is a tool for our transformation and growth. By trusting, listening, respecting and honouring our body everyday, we can find space to process emotions, deal with out past and heal from within.

Physical sensations are connected to deeper psychological and emotional roots and by trusting your intuition you can read those stories and support their release.

Start by listening, become aware, find healing, seek support and allow yourself to live consciously.

If you are dealing with strong traumatic experiences, seek professional support and give your self space to heal.

You are infinite potential - give yourself that space to shine.
